Joel Macdonald

Joel Macdonald, a former professional athlete and technology entrepreneur, is renowned for his expertise in commercializing and scaling early-stage technology companies. Over the last ten years, he has established and led a range of technology enterprises, amassing over $100 million in capital and generating revenues exceeding $30 million. His entrepreneurial journey includes two initial public offerings and a thriving company acquisition.

His foray into the tech world began with co-founding Liquorun.com, a pioneering Australian e-commerce platform for alcohol. He then launched Distributed Logistics, an on-demand logistics enterprise, followed by a successful delivery Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company. Recognizing the potential of this SaaS business, he took it public in 2016 as CEO, where his strategic vision and leadership resulted in over $75 million in funding and an impressive annual revenue growth of $20 million in under four years. In 2018, he expanded his role to President while continuing as Managing Director.

He also co-founded Zwype, a hospitality platform, which later merged with a prominent Australian/US technology group. Acknowledged for his contributions to the tech and sports industries, he is equally committed to community service, supporting various charitable organizations, including the Royal Children's Hospital, Heart Foundation, The Reach Foundation, and Meals on Wheels.

His interest in emerging technologies led him to explore digital assets, focusing on solving problems in digital asset infrastructure and consumer applications. He advises numerous entrepreneurs in the digital acquisition and broader technology sectors and invests in promising early-stage ventures through his family office.
